The First Dates and Locations Are Set for Camp ShopBot

In our November eNews, we mentioned that we were going to return to our tradition of having Camp ShopBot meet-ups around the country. Well, the first two are now on the calendar!

The first is on Saturday, April 18 at The North Carolina Furniture School in Farmville, NC. If you are interested in attending this session, please fill out this form.

The second is on Saturday, May 30 at FirstBuild in Louisville, KY. If you are interested in attending this session, please fill out this form.

Although each camp is unique, they almost always include a couple of presentations by ShopBot luminaries on topics like "What’s new at ShopBot," or to share cool projects they have either worked on themselves or have heard about in the CNC community. But the heart of the gatherings has always been, and will continue to be, the attendees—whether they own a ShopBot or not—sharing what they've created or what they want to create.

If you're interested in having a Camp ShopBot at your ShopBot tool location, there's still time! Contact us at campshopbot@gmail.com and we'll gather some information from you to determine if the timing is right to bring Camp ShopBot to you.

New at ShopBot:
Intermediate Training Classes

One of the things we hear a lot from people, particularly those that have attended our Basic Training course, is that there is interest in having access to a training that goes "beyond the basics." Well, the wait is over! We now have three sessions of Intermediate Training scheduled for 2020:

March 26-27
April 23-24
May 21-22

More details about the content of the training will be made available on our website in the training section in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eye out for more information, including how to sign-up. Give us a call at 888-680-4466 if you have any questions.

Digital Fabrication for Educators - 2020 Dates Now Available!

This 2.5-day workshop begins with design and machining using ShopBot tools, then moves into cross-platform training involving other digital fabrication tools (i.e. laser cutters and 3D printers). There is also time specifically allotted for independent work and collaborative development.

Digital Fabrication for Educators is currently scheduled for two sessions this summer: June 18-20, which will focus on VCarve Pro and August 13-15, which will focus on Fusion 360. More information about both of these sessions is available on our website. Give us a call at 888-680-4466 to sign-up for one of the workshops or if you have any questions.

"Making It" Season 2: The Final Episode

If you watched NBC's "Making It" season 2 in December, you probably saw some familiar materials, equipment, and tools—including a ShopBot Desktop MAX! While you might have caught a glimpse or two of the ShopBot tool in the background in a couple of episodes, the final episode (episode 8) featured a short segment of the ShopBot Desktop MAX cutting one of the prizes awarded to the winner—a HUGE personalized wooden check! No wimpy oversized paper check on this show, on this show you get something with some heft. As you can imagine, we were psyched to see our tool on national primetime television!

Busted out some holiday ornaments last weekend. #vcarve the same pattern on both sides of the material makes for some fancy 3D #snowflakes made on the #ShopBot here at #nextfab out of some Sycamore and American Holly wood.
