HEART HEALTH MONTH AT SPRING CREEK

February is American Heart Month!
As such, the Spring Creek Community Club has planned several practical, exciting, and fun-filled activities aimed at increasing our awareness of heart healthy practices useful in combating heart disease.
  •  February 7th , at 7 :00 pm , come to the Sports Club where you and your family can burn away calories -while improving your cardio- as we move and groove to pop music and oldies at our “Dance The Night Away” event, facilitated by Spring Creek’s own exercise guru, Sherryl Taylor. It’s a family affair, so come out and have some fun.
  •   February 19, at 7:00 pm,in the Celebration Room,  Dr. Michael Lipinsky, MD, Ph.D., F.A.C.C., Cardiologist and Cathy Reece, Cardiac Rehab Specialist, and Manager of Health and Wellness, both members of the Sentara Martha Jefferson cardiac team, will share their insights and offer suggestions on ways to improve heart health.
  • For your dining pleasure, The Tavern will add tantalizing, tasty, and heart healthy choices to their February menu. In addition, Chef Gregory will offer a “Heart Smart” cooking class on February 23 at 2:00 pm. Spaces are limited. For reservation, contact amato.moore@gmail.com
Finally, there are two calendars available for residents to download online. (Family Fit Fun and Women's Heart Health) Each calendar will provide daily suggestions to promote heart health. One is specifically geared toward family fun.

Activities are open to all Spring Creek residents, and we invite everyone to participate.

New Rental Rates and Policies for Sports Club
The Sports Club Community Room and kitchen are now available for rental by Spring Creek residents for $50 per hour plus refundable deposit dependent on meeting condition criteria. A group of volunteers from the Community Club have worked with the HOA Board and Associa to provide new guidelines and pricing as well remodeling the prep kitchen. The Community Room can be reserved by completing a reservation, a contract and providing a room deposit.  The kitchen is not a cooking kitchen but is equipped to prep food and beverages. A warming option for food is within future plans.  All catering must be provided by the Tavern on right of refusal. For additional information or to schedule a party contact Diane Cross (dcross@communitygroup.com).

Many Spring Creek residents participate in the unofficial communication venue "Nextdoor" where neighbors can post current events, ask questions and look for resources. It's a great way to keep up with "what's happening on a daily basis.
