Write Voter Registration Postcards with Indivisible OH12 Tonight!
Wednesday, 1/15, 6-8pm at Roosters, 3370 Olentangy Rd in Columbus, join us to write postcards to Ohio voters who have moved, but who haven't yet updated their voter registrations. Our postcards are a handy reminder with info on how they can easily update online.

Or, write cards on your own...
If you can't make the party tonight but are interested in writing similar voter registration update cards on your own, or organizing your own gathering, contact Jenny Yoder at yoder_jenny@yahoo.com. She will be able to send you addresses, a script, and instructions!

Self-Service Voter Registration Stations!
We are doing a test of these boxes, equipped with VR forms & info about how to register. If you know a great place to put one and are ready to step up to be in charge of restocking it, let us know by replying to this email.

Voter Registration Update

With 25 folks trained 1/5 and an additional 35 trained 1/12, we are rapidly growing the ranks of our voter registration army! Here are some opportunities to do VR this coming week.  We are planning more VR trainings and events in the weeks ahead, so please check the "Events" and "Announcements" tabs in the Facebook group, or join our voter registration email list by writing "subscribe" to mialoh12@gmail.com
On Monday, Common Cause and OH12 members delivered a 2,326 petition signatures to Senator Portman's office calling for a fair, honest, and transparent impeachment trial. You can still sign the petition HERE

Meanwhile, stayed tuned for breaking news about an impeachment rally at Portman's to be held the evening before the Senate votes. That may come pretty soon. We will email you with info as soon as we have it.

VOTEFWD.ORG
Vote Forward has a campaign in Ohio targeting "traditionally under-represented registered voters in Ohio who we believe are unlikely to move soon, and unlikely to vote." The letter you write now will be stored and mailed in October, close to Election Day. There are more than 76,000 letters to write! Click on the heading to find out more.

ELECTION PROTECTION
Ohio's primary is set for March 17, St. Patrick's Day. This is going to cause significant Election Day Voting disruptions, particularly in Cleveland (closed/reassigned polling places, transportation difficulties, drunken confusion, leprechauns). The Election Protection Coalition (including Common Cause, LWV, All Voting is Local, Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law, and the NAACP) are gearing up to deploy trained volunteers to polling places in Cleveland on Primary day, 3/17. If you are willing to travel, or know folks in Cleveland who might be interested, please sign up at the link or forward as needed. You can also sign up for November Election Protection locally.

You can write a request for information – whether it's budgets, police reports, policies, emails, or bail schedules – and in many cases the governmental agency is required by law to hand it over! Public records laws are an invaluable tool for activists. Don't let them go unused. They apply to both state and local agencies, including jails, city councils, school boards, and the prison system. Join us to hear from Gary Daniels of ACLU Ohio to learn more about how these laws can help you in your activism.

Thanks for all you do!
