Early childhood is a key time for development in all children, but even more critical for children at risk of developmental delays and those with disabilities, like Nouro.

All around the world, millions of children in sub-Saharan Africa like Nouro are shut out from school and will not reach their full potential because they do not have access to inclusive early childhood development services.

Inclusive early childhood intervention can make a huge different in a child’s life - for example, identifying hearing loss in babies and providing stimulation and sign language support at the earliest possible moment.

Light for the World is excited to be partnering with leading activist organization Global Citizen, as well as the Global Campaign for Education - USECDAN and the International Disability and Development Consortium, to call on wealthy governments to make urgently-needed investments to fund disability-inclusive early childhood development programs and help end the marginalization and poverty faced by kids with disabilities.

As our research “Leave No Child Behind” – funded by the Open Society Foundations – reveals, governments are falling way short on their commitments. Join us in calling on governments to help all chidlren get a good start in life!

Sincerely,
Nafisa Baboo
