Have Your Say on Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's Cultural Economy Plan!
Do you live or work in the Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA? Do you (or someone you know) work in the Creative or Cultural Industries, or use creative skills in other industries?
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is undertaking a large research project to provide insight into the current creative and cultural industries sector and use this information to leverage future targeted investment.

Council is proposing to strengthen and support the growing creative and cultural industries sector and critical to this is understanding the cultural economy in our region.

There are TWO ways to have your say:

1. Complete the Survey

This survey will explore critical success factors for local creative practitioners and businesses. This survey also has a optional skills audit section at the end (to inform gaps and opportunities along with future training and funding requirements for the sector), and is expected to take around 15-20 minutes to complete.

2. Attend a Workshop

Register your interest to attend a workshop here.
These workshops are essentially focus groups to explore success factors, challenges and future needs in greater detail. If you plan to attend a workshop, it is preferable that you complete the Survey above.

A number of Workshops will be held on 26th & 27th February 2020 and are approximately two hours each.

Some more background....

Throughout 2020, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is undertaking a large research project and cultural mapping process, to provide insight into the current creative and cultural industries sector and use this information to leverage future targeted investment. Council has engaged consultants, Positive Solutions, to assist with compiling this information and developing a Cultural Economy Plan for the area. The aim is to identify ways to maximise the social and economic impact of Port Macquarie’s creative sector.

This data, research and information is necessary for Council and stakeholders to advocate for continued funding from State and Federal Government, therefore, input from our creative and cultural industry is critical. Our region has a strong cultural and broad creative community. Our region has a great range of designers, artists, small creative businesses, galleries, libraries, theatres, performing arts and artists, museums and community halls, festivals and events, and heritage (both tangible and intangible).
