Inking and Penciling

I happened upon a Kristina Werner video where using a stencil, she inked an image with Distress inks and then added a second step of adding additional color with colored pencils.  I had to try it!  The process kinda took longer than I liked for only a small change in the overall design, but working with kraft cardstock is always fun for a change.  Click the photo for Kristina's link.

Another Watercolor Story

My sister, Alicia, is retiring from the field of education on Jan. 30th.  Her career began fresh out of college as an eighth grade math teacher and ultimately led her to become a district administrator over the last fifteen years.  She's taught classes at the college level and continues to be involved in that endeavor.  Teaching, giving, administering, tutoring, mentoring and caring, just to name a few, are traits she is passionate about.  Helping people discover how to be the best they can be is the mark of her true abilities as a leader both professionally and personally.

So now what is on the horizon for Alicia and her husband?  (Hence, the painting!) Looks like a good start to me!

Short and sweet e-news this week as my husband and I are involved in meetings.

Have a pleasant week!

xoxo
