Happy New Year to you all!

I hope you had a peaceful Christmas and that you are looking forward to all that 2020 has to offer.

Over Christmas I was fortunate to spend time with family in Cumbria and my partner Mark in South Wales. There I was able to ‘recharge my batteries’ and as well as sketch a little. How many of you tackled some jigsaws over Christmas like us?

Hospital Images & Anatomy

Back in Swindon, I have returned to work on the compositions I began last year with a ‘hospital’ theme. All the images are based on my own, personal experience of being in hospital, and the support and care that I received there. Working mostly without reference material, I am simplifying/stylising the forms to a certain extent. Alongside I have also been working through some anatomy lessons to strengthen my drawing from imagination.

Linoprinting Workshop

Next month, on Saturday 8 February, I will be offering a 3-hour introductory workshop on linoprinting. We will be making cards for Valentine’s Day or Mothering Sunday.
