Happy New Year!
This year is special not only because it is the start to a new decade, but also because it is HABA's 10 year anniversary. So this year we'll be doing it big, and celebrating such a wonderful achievement. The board is busy planning great events for this year including CLEs, elections, the annual banquet, service opportunities, and more! We had great turnout for our Meet the Judges event last week, so for those who couldn't attend our first event this year (and decade) look forward to more in the coming months. We would love to see more of you at future events, especially as we celebrate 10 years!

Cultural Conflict in Elder Care Facilities and the Need for Cultural Competency in Elder Law - CLE
This presentation will be focused on elder law attorneys, in-house counsel, and compliance experts to outline, and suggest strategies for dissipating, interpersonal conflict in elder care relationships. Further, this program will help attorneys themselves understand the complex web of social constructs impacting the elderly, and our role in managing those relationships. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Lunch will not be provided.

Minnesota Judicial Selection Process: Challenges Facing Applicants of Color and Strategies for Success - CLE
The CLE is designed to introduce the attendees to the basic judicial application process and the challenges they may face in seeking appointment. The CLE is also intended to facilitate discourse relating to various ways in which Black and other applicants of color are likely to be "judged" differently and will provide tips and strategies to enable these applicants to prepare for and hopefully succeed during the judicial selection process.

Staff Attorney Supervisor - The Minnesota Office of Administrative Hearings has an opening for a band-new Staff Attorney Supervisor position.
