- Minutes from last meeting
Minutes of the November meeting were approved as a true record.
- Treasurer’s report
NG was unable to attend the meeting and therefore there was no report.
- Christmas Festival – Feedback
JS read out to the meeting the feedback that was received at the Christmas lights debrief from the 25th November 2019. Generally, it had been a fantastic day with footfall in excess of 10,000. Those in the room also confirmed that they had a good day of business.
- Marketing
No report
- Meeting Venue suggestions
We had agreed to hold all meetings at the Church until February. If anyone like to suggest any meeting venues for the upcoming chamber year, please put these suggestions forward prior to the AGM.
- Membership
JS suggested that one person should send out invoices, keep records of members paid and chase any outstanding invoices. RN encouraged people to come forward if they would like to assist in the management of the Chamber and fill any posts, including post of membership officer and the other suggested posts that were referred to in the three year plan.
- Planters
Options for the planters are as follows:-
- Remove all planters
- Put the good planters in clusters
- Make longer box planters
We need to agree on the number of planters that we have around town and a budget for them.
Lynne Edgar felt that it would be fair for everyone to contribute to the costs of the planters and Caroline said that it was important that we all look after the planters and take pride in their appearance.
Stephanie Norris asked for the Committee to put forward three pricing options and then for it to be decided at a vote. The three options are stated above. An option should be given to contribute towards the costs of the planter with the membership fee.
Birch Park have some residents who may be willing to volunteer to look after the planters going forwards which is positive news and RN confirmed that he would speak to Karen at Inches to see if she could approach as she has contact there.
- Late Night Shopping Feedback
Clecktibles confirmed that they took part in this and the November late night shopping event had been better than the October one. It would have been even better had it taken place after payday and therefore it is suggested that it does take place after payday going forwards. The Banner at the Crossroads needs to be taken down. Stuart at Clecktibles agreed to take this down on his way home. He would return the banner to Sharon Colledge.
- Any other business
Stephanie Norris proposed a date in the new year to present the three year plan again to those who hadn’t seen it. An alternative would be to send the slides out with the minutes. Stephanie confirmed that she would send the slides to JS.
- Date of next meeting – Monday 13th January 2020 – 5.30pm St John’s Church
Meeting closed – 6.10pm
