2020 City Budget - Raise YOUR Voice for Child Care
Toronto has a Child Care crisis: a desperate shortage of affordable, high quality child care spaces and the subsidies to access it.
Toronto’s Child Care Growth strategy approved by Council promised to address this with a concrete plan to ensure that our child care system grows. But the City’s draft Budget does NOT deliver what was promised. The child care funding falls way short!
CHILD CARE is an essential part of Toronto’s SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE and it is vital that we keep our system stable and the growth plan on track! We cannot afford delays OUR FAMILIES NEED CHILD CARE NOW!
Every dollar promised in the Toronto Child Care Growth Strategy is desperately needed to keep our child care system stable. If Council fails us now * parent fees will go up * subsidy wait lists will grow and *parents will be shut out of the workforce!
