An update on grass fed beef from Shannon Family Farms.
As mentioned before in our newsletter, our personal herd of cows has shrunk, the quality of forages available to feed only grass has diminished, and our trusted partner is working toward full retirement. With that being said, we would rather not put out an inferior product just to have something on the shelf. We have been actively seeking another trusted partner with high quality cuts, and have not been successful in the grass fed area. We encourage you to enjoy Mills Livestock beef cuts and the Gillenwaters as they start bringing in their cuts over in the grain fed beef freezer
The Good News: We have 2 older cows that will be processed in late January. We will have the entire cow ground. Grass fed ground beef will be available in abundance in mid February.
Until then, please enjoy the remaining grass fed beef cuts available at the store and look for a new variety of pork cuts filling those empty holes.
