Hindu Society of Calgary announced an essay competition for the youth this year, just 2 days ago. Anyone from grades 7- 12 can participate. There will be prize money that will be given to the winners. The essay topic has been changed to "What are the similarities between the two Hindu epics – Ramayana and the Mahabharat``. The topic was changed slightly at the last minute as our executives felt that this would give the participants more material to work with. The Bhagavad Gita is within the Mahabharat, so it is still inclusive anyway. We encourage all youth to participate and also encourage all parents to encourage their children to participate. The website will be updated from time to time with additional information should participants seek it.
