How Often is it Heads or Tails?

Mt Daniel school logoKindergartners are being introduced to the different US coins during math workshop. One game they are playing is "Flip that Dime!" where they note the heads/tails results and share their observations. Children are also learning to count dimes by 10s. By the 100th day of school, some classes will do 100 coin flips while noting the results, along with many other "100" themed games and activities.

Phase 1: Ninja Room Creation

ME Henderson school logoFCEF logoThrough a grant from the Falls Church Education Foundation, Phase1 (of 3) of Henderson's new Ninja Room is underway! The new equipment will provide both physical and mental obstacles for students to increase strength, improve flexibility and agility, and enhance balance.
The work is a transformation of the auxiliary gym/rock wall room that was built in 2005, making it into a 2020 state-of-the-art Ninja Warrior training facility to benefit all 665 middle school students, special needs students at MEH and GM, MEH staff, students enrolled in ASAP and GMHS athletes after school. The students' first day exploring the offerings was a huge hit.
