Graduation Medals

Another first for the club, we are very pleased to announce that our exclusive 5k Graduation medals have arrived and are available to purchase for just £3 each.

This is the perfect way to celebrate your recent (or not so recent) beginners course with Redway Runners and your graduation run.

Simply log into your Redway Runners Love Admin account, go to ;events', and then go to Beginners Graduation medal, then "more", book and pay £3, only one medal per person allowed.

Your medal will be available to collect by arrangement from Milton Keynes parkrun at Willen, or some of weekday evening runs. We also plan to be at the Redway Runners Expo so if you are quick we might be able to bring yours along for collection.

Payment must be cleared before your medal can be collected, (it usually takes 10 days).

10 Years of Redway Runners

We had a committee meeting last night and started to talk about Redway Runners 10th birthday year in 2021 and we would like to mark this milestone with a series of activities, just in the meeting we discussed a few possible things like a special running event, big party a book and of course need a special logo.

Will be plenty more possibilities, but to deliver on this we need to start planning now, so we want to form a small group to manage this for the club, are you interested in leading this for Redway Runners or being on the group to deliver certain items for the celebration year

If interested please drop a mail to rr@redwayrunners.com

Cross Country Saturday

Good turnout for both Male and Female teams at Keysoe on Saturday for the Chiltern League Cross Country match

Last match 8 February 2020 at Campbell Park. Let’s fill the field with green

Chiltern League said 'A big thank you to Bedford and County AC for hosting yesterday’s League match.
Conditions were tough with some mud and a lot of wind, but good to see the continued popularity of the “water feature”.
Thanks also to the Officials, Marshals and of course to Mick Bromilow for getting the results online this morning. Any queries on results need to be resolved today before Mick takes a break.
We will see you all again in Campbell Park in February for a few hills. Meanwhile enjoy the SEAA Championships at Parliament Hill in two weeks if you are lucky enough to be running it.

Thanks again to Douglas for the shelter and refreshments

Korfball at the Expo

The free Redway Runners Running Expo on Wednesday 22 January 2020 for 6pm to 9pm at Woughton Leisure Centre we have:

Korfball Is A Fun And Exciting Game That Everyone Can Play
The game takes just a few minutes to learn, but for those who take it seriously, a lifetime to perfect. The sport is as old as basketball and netball and is played in over 50 countries around the world.

Over 200,000 people play korfball for fun, fitness or competition. It's relatively inexpensive to play - all you need is normal sports kit and trainers, and we'll provide other equipment.

Each team consists of 4 men and 4 women who compete to shoot the ball through the korf. Each player is in a duel with an opponent of the same sexand must use their speed, agility and skill to break free to shoot and score.

Korfball is a fast, dynamic and challenging aerobic sport. While it values cooperation within the team, it can also be highly competitive, but has fewer injuries than contact sports. For runners, it has aerobic and core fitness benefits and is a great sport to complement your running

MK Bucks are currently training indoors at MK College, Bletchley, MK3 6DR on Thursdays from 8:30-10pm. New players normally get their first two sessions free, but as a special offer in January 2020, new players can have the whole month for free! After that, we will also be running free taster sessions throughout the year, as part of "MK 20 in 20" as MK celebrates being European City of Sport.

ACE Massage Therapy at the Expo

The free Redway Runners Running Expo on Wednesday 22 January 2020 for 6pm to 9pm at Woughton Leisure Centre we have:

ACE Massage Therapy is run by Redway Runners member Alli Coyne.
Alli is a nationally certified soft tissue therapist, who is fully insured, regularly attends courses and seminars to further her knowledge and would encourage you to try massage therapy at least once.

You can then decide if it's something you feel can be of benefit, perhaps becoming part of your regular self-care routine.

Alli can provide you with an invigorating massage for fatigued, sore muscles, work with you on injury rehabilitation, assist in the relief of migraines and tension-related headaches, or simply help you forget about life's stresses and strains with a relaxation focused massage.

The study of bones, muscles and joints has always played a big part in Alli’s life, having originally worked professionally as a dancer, before retraining as a massage therapist.

Dancers and athletes alike are an incredible bunch who often 'push through the pain' in order to continue training or performing, not seeking treatment until after an event. Seeing this on a regular basis her initial plan was to train as a massage therapist in order to help in the moment and learn enough to 'get them through'. However, the more she learnt the more passionate she became about the whole subject - and more convinced as to just how much the wellbeing of the mind and body is interlinked.

This led her to further her knowledge and develop her skill-set, which she hopes to share with you, as together you plan your rehabilitation, or regular time out for de-stressing! So whether you're looking for a one off session or on-going treatment, please come and say hello at the Expo, find out about the special ‘on the night offers’ and make today the start of a new tomorrow!

This Saturday is the party, and parkrun is asking everyone to wear red tops, but  lets make this a party and lets dress up, think wigs, tutus and party outfits.
