The Victoria Bushfires have been a devastating crisis and #AuthorsForFireys over on Twitter have banded together to help. You can check the hashtag for lots of great donations. And as part of this I am donating query critiques to anyone and everyone who donates $10 to the campaign.
If you're an aspiring author seeking an agent, you will have to send out a query letter to represent your work. Which means distilling your 80,000-120,000 book to just a 500 word pitch and can be quite a challenging process. But I've actually always really loved writing pitch. It is always the first thing I do before starting a project, write a query letter, even now that I have an agent and I've gotten pretty good at knowing the process and what works and what doesn't when presenting your story.
