Changing book covers seems to be a lot like changing your hairstyle. You need to keep up with the times! So here we go, not just a new look for the Alvarez Family Murder Mysteries but new blurbs, too!
Fans of Sue Grafton’s Kinsey Millhone, Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum, and Lisa Lutz’s The Spellman Files, will get a special kick out of the Alvarez's.

Just because a man cheats on his wife and makes Danny DeVito look tall, dark, and handsome is that any reason to kill him? Lee Alvarez, half Latina, half WASP, and 100% detective doesn’t think so. After finding his dead body, she also finds an abandoned kitten.
Armed with kitty litter, kibble and purrs, she’s determined to find out who done the man in.

A groom arrested for murder can put a crimp in any wedding, no matter who designs the bridal gown. The nuptials of Lee Alvarez’ best friend are threatened, so Lee goes south of the border in search of the real killer. And maybe a little romance. Or is it a case of When Cupid’s Wings Start Flapping, Take Cover?
.

Competitive foot racers are dropping like flies, which sends Lee Alvarez to Vegas disguised as a dancer in a lounge lizard’s act. When she uncovers a multi-million dollar betting syndicate who is killing off the competition - literally -  it’s time to hit the ground running in the Alvarez Family’s race with death.

A man who should be dead isn’t and Lee Alvarez’s very pregnant sister-in-law is about to be charged with a murder he recently committed in the Big Easy. Aided by the rest of the Alvarez Family, Palo Alto’s favorite P.I. kicks the Voodoo in the Who Do throughout New Orleans just as a hurricane hits.

It’s a Christmas wedding for Lee Alvarez complete with dead bodies, a missing groom, and a lethal but little known drug called "Devil’s Breath." Just who planned this wedding, anyway?

It's a rough day for the PI firm to the stars of Silicon Valley when their own star - who can barely boil water - goes undercover at a culinary arts school to find out who did in one of the teaching chefs in the dry pantry.

You'll notice an image of Tugger, the cat, on every cover. To the left is a picture of the real Tugger, a cat so very special, I wanted to have him forever. When I decided to write the Alvarez Family Murder Mysteries, I knew he had to be the protagonist, Lee's, cat. Tugger passed at the ripe old age of sixteen but continues to live on in my memories, in my writing, and in my heart. Although, I will be completely honest. He never did rescue me from an armed intruder's clutches. That's a bit of poetic license. He did, however, give me years of companionship and love. We can ask for no more.
In real life, Baba was Tugger's beloved friend but of course, a cat in her own right. Docile, sweet, very loving, and a source of charm and amusement. She is no longer with us, either, but lives on in my memories and in the later Alvarez Family Murder Mysteries. I feel they are both wonderful additions to my series, giving it more heart and life. I hope you feel the same way, too!
