Sunday, February 9
Gathering Team and Council are inviting us to try something new for a few months - having soup lunch downstairs less often and planning more  opportunities for food and conversation upstairs.  Mark your calendars for February 9.  Council will host "Café Conversations" again like we did in October.  The next soup lunch will be March 1. Whenever we serve food we’ll still collect donations for local agencies that serve food to those in need.

Be sure to check our e-Calendar for upcoming meetings and events by clicking here.  As you're viewing the calendar, click on an event to see its additional information.

Women's March

January 18 is the date for the 4th Annual Western Colorado Women's March

Three years ago, five-million people came together on all seven continents of the world, answering a call to fight for a world that is equitable, tolerant, just and safe for everyone. Grounded in the nonviolent ideology of the Civil Rights movement, the Women’s March was the largest coordinated protest in U.S. history and one of the largest in world history.

We'll be continuing that tradition for the fourth year in a row on January 18. The event will kick off at 12:30 pm with a gathering and pre-March rally at the Mesa County Old Courthouse (544 Rood Avenue). The March proper will begin at 1 pm, and there will be speakers and a rally at the end of the March.

We look forward to seeing you there! Let's flood the streets!

Thank you all for your prayers and concern for my husband during his surgery and recuperation.  He is doing OK and just needs time to get back to his usual speed. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. ~Janie White

U.S. State Dept. employees, all U.S. citizens in the Middle East, and innocent Iraqis and Iranians do not become victims of those who perpetuate the contagion of war.

Our Whole Lives (OWL) Training
Friday, February 21 - Sunday, February 23

Our Whole Lives (OWL) Training

Friday, February 21 - Sunday, February 23

Our Whole Lives is a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum that helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. We will be offering facilitator training in the 7th-9th and 10th-12th grade programs this winter at UUCGV.  This is a three-day program which trains adults over the age of 25 to facilitate the OWL curricula to 7th-9th and 10th-12th graders in the future.  This is NOT an OWL course for children to enroll in.    If you are interested in becoming a trained facilitator for this vital program, please contact dre@grandvalleyuu.org for more details.

Due to a limited number of participant slots, your registration process is not complete until we have received  your $150 registration fee.

If you are ready to register, please follow this link https://forms.gle/1sFfi9fbRJXWBZ11A.  At the end of the registration form you will be prompted to pay your registration fee via Tithe.ly.  If you use Tithe.ly, please select “Cover Fees” on your payment screen to avoid the church unnecessary transaction fees.

Also, you may  mail a check to UUCGV, 526 Ouray Ave, Grand Junction, CO, 81501 with “OWL Training” in the memo line or bring cash to the church during our office hours, Tuesday - Thursday 9am-2pm.

Registrants are required to bring their own copies of the OWL curricula for levels 7-9 and 10-12.  Curricula can be purchased through the UUA at https://www.uuabookstore.org/ or through the UCC at https://www.uccresources.com/products/our-whole-lives-curriculum?variant=15492555571263. Please allow up to two weeks for shipping.
