More on SRC's Monday Split Drop-in

On Mondays, Silverthorne Rec Center gives us 7 to 10 AM for advanced and high-intermediate players and then 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM for beginner to intermediate players.  SCPA's board interprets this to mean:

The links immediately above are to our summaries of USAPA's definitions (halfway down the page).  Click here to see USAPA's full, detailed matrix characterizing each level across six aspects of play:  forehand, backhand, serve/return, dink, third shot, volley and strategy.

Please choose your level for Monday drop-in and stick with it every week, rather than go back and forth between the sessions, depending on which is more convenient for you.  Also per guidance from the rec center:  please don't come to both sessions or try to use the gym for pickleball from 10 to 11:30 AM.

A further note to more advanced players:  If you are someone who competes in SRC's Advanced Mixers (i.e, winter fun tournaments, upper skill level), then please attend the 7-10 AM session.  If you choose instead the 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM session, then your appropriate role is to help and coach newer players.

A further note to more novice players:  Please understand that when 325 club members, plus visitors, are split into just two groups, there will remain substantial skill diversity within each of the two sessions.  Even in the later session, you may see some aggressive play and the occasional lopsided game.

Silverthorne Sports Coordinator Mindy Nicholds wrote in her letter to SCPA last February, "We are doing our best to accommodate many different sports user groups, as well as our members."  Thank you for helping make it work.
