Levenshulme Market

Booking for ALL markets (Mar to May) is now OPEN

Hi all,

Booking for ALL our spring markets is now OPEN! Please read all of the below carefully before applying. Once you have done so you may then...

We advise you try to apply before Wednesday 29th January - after this date, we'll be processing and confirming bookings. We'll still be accepting applications after this date, but we expect many of the spaces to be filled by then, particularly for food traders - so please apply early! As always, if you'd like to trade on a date where we're unable to book you on, we will add you to a waiting list and be in touch in the event of any cancellations.

As you hopefully know, we run three different markets: Saturday markets at Levenshulme, monthly Friday night markets at Levenshulme and Tuesday food markets at the University of Manchester. You can book for all at once through our webshop. This means only filling in your details once, which should save you time. Our webshop is fairly straightforward but please read our guidance on using it if you've not done so before and as well as the notes completing a great application.

Remember, we do not request payment at this time as you are only requesting dates for trading - your allocated bookings will be confirmed by email along with the link to pay for your stalls.

How to book
  • The webshop works just like any other retail site, where you add products (in this case, market dates) to your cart. Simply click on a date, select your stall size and electricity options and click 'add to cart'.
  • You can add multiple dates to your cart - you don't need to check out after adding each one. You can make use of the 'Back' button near the top of the page, under our logo. The website should also remember the items you've saved in your cart, so you can navigate back to the list of dates in another way and your previously added dates should still be in your cart.
  • We do not request any payment at this stage, as you are simply requesting the dates you would like. The link for payment will be provided once we email to confirm which dates you've been allocated.
More details for booking are below, but we also have lots more information on our trader pages here so please have a good read through.

Prices

We will not be increasing stall fees this year, so stall fees are as follows:

Saturday markets: £37 for a single stall, £22 for a shared stall, £74 for a double stall, £37 for a van/trailer less than 3.5m, £55.50 for a van/trailer over 3.6m.

Friday night markets: £70 for a single stall, £35 for a shared stall, £140 for a double stall, £70 for a van/trailer less than 3.5m, £105 for a van/trailer over 3.6m.

Tuesday UoM markets (food only): £65 for a hot food stall, £30 for a cold food stall, £65 for a hot food van/trailer less than 3.5m, £97.50 for a hot food van/trailer over 3.6m.

The cost for electricity (if required and available) is £6 per single allocation (1400w use) or £12 per double allocation (2800w use). Shared stalls are not available with electricity and a max of 1400w electricity is available on Tuesday UoM food markets.

You can view and download a full list of all our stall fees for 2020 here.

Payment Policy - PLEASE READ

We require stall fees for a calendar month at a time (i.e. all your confirmed trading dates in March) to be paid in advance. This applies to all market types.

When your bookings are confirmed by us via email, we will also provide you with a payment schedule and deadline dates. Anyone who has not paid the required amount by the deadline date will have all of their bookings for the calendar month cancelled and offered to the next trader on the waiting list.

Cancellation policy - admin fee

When you receive the email from us confirming which dates you've been allocated, you'll have 7 days from the date the email was sent to tell us whether you want to make any changes. We know that traders often apply for multiple dates but may not be able to make all the dates they are allocated, so this is your chance to tell us if you need to cancel any. This does not apply to last minute bookings, which will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

After this 7 day cooling off period, our cancellation policy will apply:

You are free to cancel bookings provided you give us at least 7 days' notice before your trading date, but there will now be an admin charge (a small percentage of your stall fee) that will not be refunded. Please see our Cancellation Policy below (applies to all market types), details of admin fees are included on our Price List for your reference.

Cancellation of a stall by a trader (must be done by email only):
  • UP TO 7 days before trading date - the stall fee will be refunded minus admin fee
  • AFTER 7 days before trading date no refund due, the full stall fee will be retained
If we are forced to cancel a market due to adverse weather (force majeure):
  • The stall fee will be refunded minus admin fee.
Dates

The dates of the markets are listed here. There are no themes for any dates (except where mentioned, such as VegFest), so please feel free to apply for any markets you wish.

Night markets

Our night markets are held on the third weekend of the month, so this means there will be NO SATURDAY MARKET on the third weekend of the month.

Terms and Conditions

Our Terms and Conditions for traders can be found here and you will be asked to agree to abide by them when you fill out your booking. Please read them carefully before booking.

If you have any questions, please take a look at our FAQs to see if the answer to your query is there.
