Evidence-based practice-knowledge, attitude, behaviour questionnaire

At the upcoming 2020 EFSHT Congress in Basel Switzerland, a group of speakers has been recruited for the session that focuses on “Knowledge Transfer: Implementation of Evidence Based Practice in the field of Hand Therapy”.As part of this session we would like to present information about “What hand therapists think about evidence based practice”. In order to do so, we would like to survey therapists across Europe to gain insight into therapists’ attitudes and perspectives about evidence based practice. EBP is defined as: using/applying EBP means the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients. That is, looking up, appraising and applying both basic, factual information as well as disease-specific and condition-specific evidence.

You are being invited to participate in a web-based online survey research study. It should take approximately 5 minutes to complete.Your participation in this survey is voluntary. You may refuse to take part in the research or exit the survey at any time without penalty…

Meet the Committee.....Sam.T

I’m Sam and I am currently the Director of Social Media on the Executive Committee.  I have been working with the Executive Committee since 2015 as the Treasurer, and changed role at the last AGM in 2018.  My role mainly involves reading lots of articles and Tweets on Twitter and either re-tweeting them or sharing them on Facebook.  Those that follow @BAHTHandTherapy on Twitter and Facebook, have you noticed there’s an open access journal each month?  I also share and retweet information about products and job vacancies, so joining the SoMe movement is worth it!!

I have been working in Hand Therapy since 2009, have been one of the Clinical Specialists at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital since 2015, and have been privileged to join the movement of Non-Medical Prescribers and AHPs in Injection Therapy in recent years.  I am passionate about developing Hand Therapy as a profession, and have a special interest in sport-related hand and wrist injuries (including national injury prevention and effective rehabilitation strategies).  I have recently accepted a lecturing post at a university, so will be continuing my career as a clinical academic.  As such, I’ll be stepping down from my role as SoMe Director – if you’re interested in developing this area of BAHT (it’s such an exciting role, with so much potential), contact the Committee (BAHT.Chair@gmail.com).
