CTYP January Newsletter

Happy New Year!

It's the beginning of a new year, and you know what that means - aspirations for a new year, new you! Maybe you're looking to make new friends. Maybe you want to be more involved in your community. Maybe you're hoping to make big gains in your professional life. CTYP is here to help you keep your resolutions!

All of us at CTYP are excited for what this new year will bring. Read on for information on our upcoming events as well as tips for the young professional!

Events

Rebel Alliance? Empire? No matter who your allegiance belongs to, come to Brother Jimmy's and join us for a night of Star Wars themed trivia. May your answers be more accurate than a storm troopers blaster and your team name more loved than Jar Jar Binks. There will be an open bar on select drinks from 6-7, Happy Hour discounts on food and beverages for the duration of trivia.

As always, feel free to approach anyone there; come expecting to meet a lot of new people.

Have you always wanted to give rock climbing a chance but don't know where to start? New to the area and looking for someplace to climb and people to climb with? Come join us at City Climb for a moderate to serious workout (your choice!) and a fun challenge. We will have belayers available to help first time climbers or experienced climbers.

As always, feel free to approach anyone there; come expecting to meet a lot of new people. Attendees with CTYP get a Special Day Pass Rate of $10 (includes harness) Special Shoe Rental Rate $3 (can also bring your own or try your own sneakers).

Passes and Gear Rental are to be paid for at the event. We highly recommend you fill out a waiver ahead of time so you have more time to climb using this link.

Please join us for the IRIS Run for Refugees in New Haven. This 5k Run/Walk is open to everyone of all athletic abilities. The Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS), helped in resettling 530 refugees last year alone. CTYP believes that diversity is an important factor in developing thriving communities, stable businesses and quality education. Welcoming people from all walks of life helps make us stronger.

Our CTYP Members can receive a $3 discount on their registration by using code "CTYP" at checkout and join our team. We will have location to meet up before and after the race. If running isn't your thing, you can still donate and come to support the runners.

Inside Wilbur Cross High School will be a post race party consisting of food and beverage samples from New Haven companies and Refugee chefs from around the globe.
