Arthog- medication –

By Mrs Cunningham on Jan 09, 2020 03:51 pm

Any child who has medication that needs to be taken to Arthog must take this medication from home.

The medication will need to be taken by the children to Arthog in their bags/cases, the teachers will have a list of any that has been listed on the forms that were returned by parents.

If your child has any medication at school that is required for Arthog then you will need to ensure that this is collected from the class/office on the Friday afternoon (Friday 17th) prior to Arthog ready to be packed and brought in on the Monday morning.

Teachers are not responsible for ensuring the medication is taken to Arthog.

Please let the office know if your child requires assistance with any medication administration.

Many thanks

School Meals – competition

By Mrs Cunningham on Jan 07, 2020 08:51 am

Here at school we are taking part in the competition below

At Lets Dine we  are always working towards providing  healthy meal choices, supporting the reduction of  obesity in schools and supporting schools with their universal infant free school meal uptake as it’s a free meal. To promote this work we are  launching a school meals competition. All pupils in Reception to Year 6 classes (key stage 1and 2 only) which are catered by Let’s Dine are eligible to enter whether they are paid or free meals.

To enter the competition pupils will need to have a school meal (hot or cold) for 40 days between 13 January 2020 and 27 March 2020.

Prizes include:

  • 2 iPads
  • 2 family pantomime tickets
  • a family ice hockey ticket
  • a hamper
  • a skiing party ticket
  • a family foot golf/driving range ticket
  • 4 Sky Reach tickets
  • a book voucher
  • 2 Area 51 tickets.

Prizes will be randomly drawn. Winners will be invited to a prize drawing event where prizes will be drawn at random. The school where the lucky winner attends  will receive a free Eatwell session (a session where 8 children prepare fresh ingredients, make a dish using those ingredients and eat what they have made).

Entries will be recorded on a cashless system against pupil’s accounts when they have a meal. At the end of the competition the system will produce a list of pupil’s names who have had 40 or more school meals. These names will be entered in a random name generator.

Those schools that do not have a cashless system will be collated at site and the names added to the final list.

To enter the competition and for a chance to win an iPad entrants will need to have a school meal (hot or cold) for 40 days between 13 January 2020 and 27 March 2020.

Terms and conditions

Walking Bus – Last date for this is on Friday 10th January

By Mrs Cunningham on Jan 07, 2020 08:45 am

Unfortunately the walking bus will be ceasing as from Monday 13th January

The last day for the Walking Bus will be on Friday 10th January.

You will still be able to park at The Lion public house and walk down to school with your children, however the Walking Bus service will no longer be taking place.

If you could commit to volunteering on a Monday Wednesday or Friday ( would need a minimum of two people for each day and would be prepared to have a DBS ) please let the office know.

Thank you very much to those who have volunteered for the Walking Bus over the years, your time and commitment has been very much appreciated.
