Our featured resource this month is Tuva, a visual and dynamic tool for exploring, representing, and analyzing data. As an SFUSD math teacher, you have access to Premium Tuva, which gives you unlimited access to readymade datasets and lessons, plus the ability to upload your own datasets. You can create classes and assign lessons to your students.

To sign up for Premium Tuva:
  1. Make sure you are logged into your SFUSD Google account on your browser.
  2. Go to tuvalabs.com/ and click Signup.
  3. Choose Teacher (not Student), and on the next screen, click on the "Sign in with Google" button.

Recent Activities

On January 15, Complex Instruction Cohort 11 came together for the second course follow-up day. This group of elementary, middle school, and high school math and science teachers thought together about how to help students recognize their brilliance and the brilliance of others by assigning competence. Teachers left with big ideas around how they can plan to assign competence, and how it is their responsibility to shine a light on the strengths that students don't always see in themselves and their classmates... yet!

Large group of teachers at Complex Instruction PD day
Happiness is thinking deeply with elementary, middle, and high school colleagues about how to recognize and build on the mathematical brilliance of all of our students!

Thank you for all that you do!
