Architectural Request
We are looking for some initial advice and input from an architect. If anyone out there is an architect, and feels you could help, please could you reach out to Jeremy jeremyriley.uk@gmail.com
.Invitation from House
The House committee would like to invite you to come along on Saturday 25th January at 11am for coffee and cakes and to meet the new team. As well as that they would like to tell you about the House working group, that meets on an ad hoc basis throughout the year to fettle all those little jobs that cannot wait for the biannual work parties, or need to be done when the club is quiet. They are a nice bunch and just want to see if you would like to join them. No commitment and free coffee and cake - what's not to like!
Subscriptions Discount Deadline in 3 days time
We are delighted to offer a 10% discount on subscriptions to all those who renew before 15th January, and we thank all those who have already done so.
This is your last chance for that discount, so drop everything and do your renewal as soon as you have finished reading this newsletter!
If for any reason you have a problem with your renewal, or have sadly decided to leave the club, please contact Debbie on membership@papercourt-sc.org.uk as soon as possible, to avoid getting endless automated reminders.
Signal from the Sailing Secretary
We have just concluded three of our race series. One of our youngest racers, Noa Moskovitch, in her Optimist has gained a 3rd in the Autumn PM series and 2nd in the Icebox Series, which she may well have won but for the lack of wind on the last day of that series. Very well done Noa.
Other podium winners were Andrew Boyce, 1st in the Autumn AM in his Solo, Amer Sarssam 2nd in the Scow and Mark Carleton flying his Aero.
John Panting took 1st in the Autumn PM in his Solo, Mark Carleton 2nd and Noa 3rd.
Mark Fuller, in his Solo dropped into the Icebox Series to take five bullets in the 5 qualifying races, Noa 2nd and Fraser, our Commodore, popped in to take 3rd place. Well done to all.
The Winter Series runs each Sunday from now through to 29th March so plenty of good racing to be had from now until then with two races back to back AM and likewise two races in the afternoon.

Prostate Screening At Papercourt - Wednesday 15th January 7.30 onwards
Wey Valley Advanced Motorcyclists Club has arranged for a charity - The Graham Fulford Trust - to offer Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) testing for their male members and has extended this offer to Papercourt members and friends.
PSA is a simple blood test for gentlemen over 50 to check the level of prostrate antigen.
Please contact fraserhayden@hotmail.com if you are interested, as there are not many spaces left and they need to have numbers for nursing staff levels. There will be a charge of £15 to cover the costs of the charity workers and lab testing.

Report from the Bloody Mary Pursuit Race
Several Papercourt sailors braved the conditions to sail in the annual 'Bloody Mary' Pursuit race at Queen Mary SC on Saturday. This is the largest dinghy race in the UK and is held annually.
The forecast of 18kn gusting 28kn lived up to expectations, with only 170 finshers out of 288 entries.
Congratulations to those who finished the 2.5 hour race, and well done to anyone who braved it at all!
