LPGA Amateur Central Oregon Chapter Members,
Happy New Year!
We have some exciting news to share with you! Our local chapter has the opportunity to become an official club with the Oregon Golf Association and offer our members GHIN handicaps for a reasonable price. This means you can renew your GHIN handicap or get a new GHIN handicap with LPGA Amateurs Central Oregon listed as your "club". Sponsoring clubs are commonly golf courses, but golf organizations can also serve as golf clubs. The LPGA Amateurs Portland chapter has been offering GHIN handicaps to their members for many years.
In order for us to become an OGA club offering GHIN handicaps, we need at least 10 members to sign up for or renew their GHIN number with us. The annual cost is $35.00. If you would like to renew or get your GHIN through the LPGA Amateurs Central Oregon, please email halleyann@outlook.com. As soon as we have 10 members, we'll make the club official!
A GHIN handicap is a different handicapping service than the Golfnet (GN21) service currently provided at no fee with your membership. The GHIN handicap is recognized at golf courses nationwide.
Handicaps are not required for chapter membership. Many members obtain a handicap to track their game improvement or compete against other golfers.
There are many changes coming to the GHIN handicap system with the implementation of the World Handicap System. We'll be providing more information on this change as posting season approaches. You can view more information now on the Oregon Golf Association's website https://www.oga.org/world-handicap-system.

See you on the course!
