PTA Meeting Minutes and Comprehensive District Design Notes

Thank you to Joan Franks and School District Board Member Ira Jordain for joining the Armatage PTA and school parents on Thursday, Jan 9 for a meeting to discuss the Comprehensive District Design. Music Update from Ms. Anita

Happy New Year!!!

Congratulations to the 4th and 5th grade students in room 115 (Christian Houdek’s class) and room 117 (Staci Owens’ class) who sang and played jingle bells in our song “Winter Wonderland” for the December Student of the Month program. Thank you for a job extremely well done! ☺

Our next Student of the Month program will be Friday January 24th. We are working on some special surprises for that program and will be singing “Let It Snow”. All 4th and 5th grade classes are eligible to be chosen to sing for the performance… good luck! (Read More)

The Welcoming Equity (WE) Committee is a group of parents working collaboratively to advance diversity, equity, social justice, and intercultural understanding within the Armatage Montessori School community.

Family Reading Night

Family Reading And Story Night is Thursday, January 30 from 6-7:30pm at Armatage.

This year’s event will feature local authors, storytellers, Write From Your Heart, a craft, a snack, and book sales by the Wild Rumpus. Everyone is welcome! Write from the heart!

Looking for a FUN evening activity for a good cause?

Come to BINGO night at Armatage!

This Bingo event will support the cost of the 5th Grade Spring Field Trip (a 2-day, non-overnight field trip to YMCA Camp Ihduhapi)

When: Thursday, February 13th
Where: Armatage Cafeteria
Time: 6:00-7:30
Cost: $2/card or 3 for $5 (or any donation your family can pay. No one will be turned away! Additional donations also accepted)
Snacks: various snacks for purchase

We'll play lots of Bingo and there will be prizes, too! Bring the entire family!

To make this Bingo night a great success, we are looking for donations for prizes.
Please contact Christa Perkins if you have something to donate for a prize (king size candy bars, DVD, $5 gift card, small game, etc)--or make a cash donation and we will use the money to purchase prizes.

Comprehensive District Design (CDD) - Get Involved!

CDD ACTION STEPS
1) NEW SURVEY!
This survey will ask questions about what you value for students in MPS, which will require you to make difficult choices about important topics. This survey aims to understand what you want MPS schools to look like in terms of composition and resources.

There are no right or wrong answers. This survey will take about 5 - 10 minute s. Your answers will remain anonymous, so please answer as honestly as possible. Thank you for your input!

2) Attend Listening Sessions: MPS is holding community listening sessions to get feedback in Jan and Feb. Additional meetings may be added.

Listening session schedule: ENGLISH / SOMALI / SPANISH
Consider attending a session in a neighborhood outside of Armatage neighborhood to hear from families across the district!

Every year, Armatage provides a Family Directory so families can connect with other families for things like playdates, birthday parties, or to find neighbors who also go to Armatage. Join Our Class offers a free Family Directory software program that is secure, password protected, available online or on an app and allows you to update and edit your information anytime!
