Teaching & Practice: Discipleship & Renewal

Yesterday, Dave Lomas taught from Matthew 28:18-20 on the difference between being a disciple of Jesus and being a Christian, and how we can practice being disciples of Jesus. In community, we will reflect on how renewal may happen in us personally and more broadly in the world through discipleship to Jesus. Then, we'll discuss how we can practically support one another in our discipleship to Jesus.

Discipleship Courses: More Spaces Open for Winter Term

Discipleship Courses are short-term catalytic experiences to encourage and equip our church to be resilient disciples of Jesus. We've just opened up a few more spots in our four core courses that start on February 9th and 16th: Biblical Literacy, Core Christian Beliefs, Everyday Mystic Prayer Practices, and Vocation & Spiritual Gifts. Our hope is for everyone in our church to participate in these core courses at some point. There is also plenty of room in the spring-term courses (including our Premarital Class).

Seek First Worship & Prayer Nights: Starting on Feb. 23rd

At Annual Vision & Prayer, Dave shared about our vision to host worship and prayer nights once per quarter to instill a posture of intercession and prayer for renewal both in our church and in our city. We’re calling these Seek First Worship & Prayer Nights, and the first one will be on Sunday night, February 23rd at 6:30PM at Dolores Park Church! These events are open to all, so join us as we press into worship, intercession, and the things of the Spirit, such as prophecy, visions, words of knowledge, healing, and more.

Two Morning Gatherings: Thank You, Church!

Yesterday, we hosted two morning gatherings for the first time, and we just wanted to say thank you for helping us make this an easy transition. We had a pretty even split of attendance between 9:15 and 11:30, and while it was full at both, we didn't have to open up our overflow seating. So thank you especially to those who have committed to the 11:30 gathering! In the coming weeks, we will continue to improve our flow with these two gatherings. We appreciate your patience, engagement, and humble service to one another in the process.
