Thank you to all, who joined us at our breakfast event on January 25.  It turned out to be a wonderful gathering, where participants were connected with each other in meaningful ways. Professor Mark Thomas was phenomenal as always and his presentation generated interesting discussion. We received positive feedback and, overall, the event was great success!

Our speakers included Elizabeth Ebot, Deputy State Director, Office of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, Jeremy Drucker, Board Chair of Minnesota Recovery Connection, and Professor Mark Thomas, Director of Medical Discovery Team on Addiction at the University of Minnesota.

We are grateful to our event sponsors: Alliance Wellness Clinic in Bloomington, Brighter Days Grief Center, For Jake’s Sake Foundation, Lloyd and Pat Haack family, Minnesota Recovery Connection, Rock the Faith Radio, Thrive Family Support and Urbanize Farm.

Here is some feedback that we received from the attendees: “beautiful work”, “wonderful event”, “really appreciated information and connections that were made”, “deeply touching and informative”. One of the attendees shared: “I was moved by the stories of loss. I’ve not been in a room with that much passion to cure addiction disorder. I want to stay connected and help to promote the foundation in any way I can… I can’t believe you’ve put together this incredible foundation and met so many people in such a short time. You should be proud of what you’re doing! So honoring to your son!”

This month we remember Devin Allen Egge.  His family shared the following with us:

Son of Cheri and Dave Egge
Brother of Brandon Egge

Devin was a very talented artist and musician. He attended the Institute of Production & Recording (IPR) in hopes to become a music producer someday. He was a star soccer goalie in high school and played on an adult league after high school that he liked a lot.
Devin was everybody’s friend and he would give you the shirt off his back if he could. He was always there for you. He loved his family and friends with his whole heart.
He is missed every second of every day. Our lives have changed drastically since his passing, we are doing everything we can in his memory to help save other families from having to go through this horrible tragedy.

Devin lost his battle on February 16, 2016. He was 22 years old.
