Today's tip on improving your social media is gonna be sorta SHORT, but HIGH VALUE.

3 things you can do RIGHT now to improve your LinkedIn Professional Profile:

  1. Check your profile image. Does it say what you want it to say? Is it appropriate for the space allotted by LinkedIn?
    Bonus Hint: the minimum size is 400px X 400px; a square photo is best, but you can also adjust/crop the photo after it has been uploaded.
  2. Check your background/cover image. Make sure it's sharp and relevant to who you serve.
    Bonus Hint: it should also include your name, phone, email, website, and your personal/brokerage logo near the center of the image. For this image, size does matter. Be sure that it measures 1584px X 396px.
  3. What is the world is a "px"?!?
    I realize I have strayed into marketing acronyms (GEEK alert!).
    Let's try those measurements again, clearer this time:
    Profile image: 400 pixels by 400 pixels
    Background/cover image: 1584 pixels by 396 pixels

    Suggestion: Find a beautiful stock image (you can find them free here) that looks like your "neck of the woods" and use it as a background for your LinkedIn cover image. Next, overlay your contact info and logo(s) using a design software like Canva or Logoist.
    Double Bonus Hint: Design software that our Team uses and loves:
    1. Mac users (like me): I LOVE Logoist. It's cheap with a MUCH shorter learning curve than Adobe Illustrator or similar software. I use it multiple times a day, and it even has the template size for a LinkedIn cover image pre-loaded! Whew.
    2. PC and Mac users: Canva is just cool. It's free web-based software with a MUCH shorter learning curve than most graphics software. And there are SO many templates to choose from!
