UNDISCOVERED? APPLY TO PLAY AT THE GREAT BRITISH RHYTHM & BLUES FESTIVAL THIS SUMMER

The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival has teamed up with the UKBlues Federation to offer up-and-coming, undiscovered, under-the-radar acts (solo artists or bands) the opportunity to play the main stages at the festival this summer.

Two bands/artists will be chosen to each play a one hour slot. The judges are seeking blues-based acts with originality (no ‘covers’ bands please), creativity, technical ability, musical compatibility to the festival, and entertainment value, being at the core of their choices.

Deadline for applications is Saturday 29th February 2020.

To apply and for more information visit #ColneBlues2020 Under The Radar Project.

Applications will be perused by a panel of music professionals which will include award-winning musicians, recording artists, event managers, radio presenters and more, will use the submitted sound recordings and videos to select the successful acts.

In addition to a slot at The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival, one of the chosen festival acts will be nominated to take part in the 2020 UKBlues Challenge, organised by the UKBlues Federation.

The winner of the 2020 UKBlues Challenge will be invited to represent the UK at the 37th International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January 2021 and the 11th European Blues Challenge in Chorzow, Poland in April 2021 following in the footsteps of previous UKBlues Challenge winners such as Kaz Hawkins - EBC winner 2017 - LaVendore Rogue, Kyla Brox - EBC winner 2019 - and The Achievers who are currently in Memphis competing in the 2020 International Blues Challenge.

Please note: to be eligible, acts applying to take part must not have played the festival within the last 3 years.

The acts must make their own way to and from the festival. The available musical slots will be paid, as will accommodation.

So, if you are an undiscovered, under the radar act and you fancy a chance to play at this great festival, get your application in.

And if you know acts who you think fit the bill and would be interested, let them know and get them applying!

Good luck!
