Citizens' Assembly

The Climate Assembly has begun

Last weekend saw 110 citizens come together in Birmingham to listen to climate change experts — the first of four packed sessions for the UK's Climate Assembly. Participants will be presented with facts, potential solutions and difficulties, and then engage in a structured process to agree the best path to net zero carbon for the country.

mySociety have played a small logistical part, running the website for the Assembly.

If you'd like to see what happened in weekend one, videos are now available (along with plenty more background detail) on the Climate Assembly website. You'll also be able to watch live during the coming sessions.

Keep up with your new MP (or your old one!)

Whether the pre-Christmas election dealt you a brand new MP, or the same one back again, you can keep an eye on them the easy way with TheyWorkForYou.

Here's how to set up an email alert that will tell you every time your MP speaks or votes in Parliament, or how to be informed every time your chosen keyword is mentioned.

A huge thank you

Your donations helped us fund updates to TheyWorkForYou so that it reflects the new government — and the comments you left while donating were the cherry on the cake!

Here's our final statement on the crowdfunder, including the final sum that was raised. Massive thanks to every single one of you who chipped in.

Now write to them!

All MPs' details have now been imported into WriteToThem.com, so you can drop a line to yours and let them know how you feel about... well, whatever you feel most strongly about!

No matter the topic, now is a great time to start a dialogue with your representative in Parliament. All you need to know is your own postcode.
