Our Latest News & Your Invitation
to Europe's Largest Health Hackathon!!

"I don't know about you, but I'm still feeling hopeful about 2020. It is a hope borne out of an acceptance of (not a resignation to) suffering. It is a hope inspired by the constant chance we have to be present, and to unchain ourselves from the past. It is a hope that recognizes our common ability to find common ground and to work together to bring positive change.

The tragedies around the world, from California to Canberra, remind us of the fragility of life. But they also remind us that when we act from compassion, we can make a difference. In the words of Mr. Rogers, "look for the helpers, you will always see people helping."

...I am hopeful that, this year, you and I can be the people helping."

- Sam Parfitt, TAP Founder

Europe's largest
digital health hackathon, run by Product Forge, is taking place in Edinburgh, Scotland, from Thursday 20th February - Sunday 23rd February, 2020.

The True Athlete Project is co-sponsoring a special "sport & mental health track" at the event.

Event participants will form teams and create innovative solutions to challenges in the sector. We're looking for mentors and panel judges, who can join the event via video link. Contact Sam Parfitt if you are interested in taking part!
DID YOU KNOW?! January is National Mentoring Month!

We have just concluded our first ever "community" cohort (pictured above), in partnership with The Crags Centre in Edinburgh. We matched Edinburgh University student-athletes with young basketball players in the community.

We are also currently running a year-long British Fencing mentoring cohort (more on that in our April newsletter) as well as our Global cohort (see below)...

Our program is based around 5 themes:

Performance
Identity & Values
Mindfulness
Community Responsibility
Nature & Connectedness

We are so proud of all our wonderful mentors and mentees for dedicating themselves to the process of self-discovery and self-mastery. Congratulations, all!

If you'd like to get involved, please contact Laurence Halsted or Pam Boteler.
Until next month...
Best wishes from the whole TAP Team!
