LETTER FROM THE CHAIR                              Photo by StarryRachel, instagram

Dear FNAME,

Happy New Year. I hope you had great holidays and a great start to 2020.

In this first newsletter of our marketing area in 2020, you can read about some of the activities that our marketing colleagues have been involved in. Under the Research section, you can read summaries of some of my colleagues’ selected publications of my colleagues, with topics ranging from social innovation to service employee sabotage in refugee context, to artificial life and independent book stores.

As part of its overall strategic focus on services research, our area once again organized and hosted the Let’s Talk About Service (LTAS) Workshop in December.  You can read more about this unique and great event under the Hot Topics section. Also, the Gabelli School of Business hosted the Second American Innovation Index Conference in October. You can read more about this event that brought together academics and practitioners below.

Our area is known for its Global Immersion Tours! We added a new destination to the list of tours that we offer in Spring ’20 semester. You can read more about that new Immersion Tour to Belgium under the Teaching section.

Finally, we are all very excited about 2020 as the Gabelli School of Business is turning 100 this year. We have planned great Centennial celebration events including conferences, talks, receptions to celebrate this important turning point. You can read more about the details below.

As always, please accept this e-newsletter as an open invitation to share your ideas or suggestions for possible collaborations and joint projects with our area and/or individual faculty members. You can always contact me at kabadayi@fordham.edu. If you happen to be in New York City, feel free to stop by at our campus and say hi.

Best Regards,

Gabelli School of Business is celebrating its 100 years in education. A lot has changed since we took New York City by storm in 1920. But there’s one thing that hasn’t changed at all: our irrepressible urge to better both ourselves and the world of business.

We’re standing taller than ever at 100 years thanks to that drive—and the core foundation we’ve upheld since day one.

In New York's only Jesuit business school, we teach with a deep respect for the development of our students, faculty, and administration
