NEW QUEER TAROT - The Nine of Swords
The message in the Nine of Swords – aligned with my personal experience more: of someone who has struggled with depression their entire life, I felt like I wasn’t worthy – because I was fat, because I was brown, because I was depressed. I feel like a lot of queer people have anxiety about leaving their house. And sometimes not leaving their house means not leaving their bed, because existing in this world as a queer person can be exhausting. I feel that, and I felt that really hard. So I wanted to re-imagine it.

NEW QUEER TAROT - The King of Cups
He’s what I think a man really should be, instead of all this aggression -
You can be peaceful and masculine at the same time.It is possible to get out of your situation and really do what you want to do. It is possible for you to be the King of Cups. Letting things go, letting things be, finding peace in myself; trying to connect myself more to the Earth, and the animals.

NEW QUEER TAROT - The Eight of Swords
I think a lot of queer people end up resonating with the message of witchcraft that does center so much around playing by your own rules, finding your personal power, reclaiming things, the word ‘queer’ is a reclaimed term and so is ‘witch,’ so I think the two marry together really well. Tarot can be interpreted in so many different ways, there’s this resurgence of re-interpretation of traditional tarot.

Welcome: To my storytelling bit:
There's less than 16 cards left to photograph 6 Pentacles cards, 5 Wands cards, 3 swords cards, and the 7 of Cups! Check out which ones are left https://queertarot.cards/queer-tarot-cards-interpretations-meanings/
Please get in contact with me regarding shooting - I'm looking to shoot QPOC first, and if you are in Canada, that helps. Other places I will get to eventually, but probably on the second edition of this deck. If you have your own photographer there is a brief I can share if you want to create this and submit it to the project!

Vancouver just got hit with this year's SNOWMAGEDDON. The brunt of jokes for the entire rest of the country, BC's one week of snow, and -10 Celsius temperatures wrecking havoc on a city not prepared for actual hints of winter. Busses sliding all over the road on tiny hills, cars with no snow tires, and school out cos no one can get out of their driveways cos they forgot to buy salt or shovels.
I was fine, my fire place keeping warm and the occasional visit to a hot tub! BLISS. The darkness - that's been harder, Vitamin D every day to keep my mental health some what alive. We've had 2 sunny days in the past couple of weeks. They don't call it Rain City for no reason. The days are SLLLOOOOOWWWWLLY getting longer and I really really can't wait for spring. I'm just tired of darkness. Here's hoping I'll get out and up the mountains at least once to make a snowman or fall on my face. Wish me luck!!
