Thank you for the books we received from the book fair.
Thank you to the parents who donated books to the PT Library during the Scholastic Book Fair! Guts by Raina Telg and the Dog Man books were checked out right away, and the new copies of the Captain Underpants books will be a welcome addition to the school. Thank you to the PT Community for your generous donation.
Teachers are excited about the new outdoor habitat/ learning lab which our classes will be helping to establish.
Shrek Jr. is fully underway and Saturday workday painting (the sets) sessions will begin <January 18>. A signup has been created for parents to make donations of materials or time to support the play. We have again asked play participants for a $25 donation per participant to be paid to PTA to offset the cost of licensing the play. We are also planning to sell raffle tickets for front row seat drawing and possible bake and floral sales at the evening events, proceeds to be given to PTA. Thank you again PTA for supporting theatre arts projects here at Proctor Terrace. We have over 50 students in grades 3-6 participating in our musical this year!
Thank you for supporting our Outdoor Ed Fundraising by partnering with us to put on the December Pajama Party Night. We look forward to another night in February near Valentine’s Day. Thank you to all who bought See’s Candy for the holidays. We are starting our sale of Valentine’s See’s Candy <January 15>… if anyone would like to place an order for Valentine’s Day.

Sales forms available in the office or Room 34 (after school), payment by cash or check made out to Proctor Terrace. Candy will arrive February 12th and will be delivered to the classroom of the student bagged to go home.

Most of our PTA Board will "retire" at the end of April: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer positions must be filled.
OPEN PTA Board Position Spotlight: Co-Treasurer
Do you have a basic understanding of bookkeeping, strong organizational skills, basic-intermediate knowledge of QuickBooks online and are proficient in Excel?
Consider being our co-Treasurer! Sharing duties with an experienced partner, you will:
Maintain records to track funds and financial transactions
Chair budget committee and prepare annual budget for adoption by the PTA
Pay all PTA bills as authorized by PTA board and association
Prepare reports for every board and PTA meeting (monthly) and an annual financial report
Ensure taxes and reports required by PTA bylaws, insurance or federal and state governments are completed and submitted by the due dates
Time Commitment: Average 1-2 hours per week + monthly PTA meeting (2 hours)
SRCS DISTRICT YOUTHTRUTH SURVEY

What is working in our school? How can the school improve? Our students, staff and families are taking the YouthTruth Survey, January 6-31. We ask that one parent or guardian from each household fill out the survey for each student. You'll find it at this link: ytsurvey.org/SantaRosafamily20 and estimate it will take ~15 minutes to complete.
This information will be useful at the school and district level to identify priorities for instructional planning and budget resources.
