It is with heavy hearts that we pass on the news that Green Rabbit Bread has had to halt their southern delivery route after some changes in their business, needing to downsize their volume until they can re-evaluate their business.

Their last delivery day will be next Friday, Jan. 31st.

If you would like to stock up before the last delivery, you can email Justin at marketing@rutlandcoop.com, to place a special order.
Green Rabbit has been an excellent business to work with and we sincerely hope they can return to the Co-op as soon as possible!

Here at the Co-op we pride ourselves on giving opportunities to local purveyors, it is part of our mission to work closely with these local businesses.  Change and adaptation are crucial to these businesses, and recently one of our major dairy producers, Kimball Brook Farm, has had to change and re-evaluate their business by focusing on their drinks and hemp-infused products, and discontinuing their dairy business.
This edition of Weekend Reading features an article about how Kimball Brook made their decision, the impacts of big corporate farms on small local producers, and the tough decisions one has to make to ensure the best quality products can be delivered to consumers.
