Proceeds from the Roaring Queer Twenties Ball will support:
1.RAD Family, a program for gender-expansive youth and their families. We hold regular monthly meetings for RAD Kids (generally 12 and under) and RAD Teens, (generally 13-17) and their parents/guardians. RAD Kids enjoy supervised play with similar children, teens enjoy snacks and chat with a young adult facilitator, while the caregivers gather separately to talk and share experiences and resources. Next meeting: Sun., 1/19! (Contact us for more info.)
2. New program for LGBTQ teens. Beginning in 2020, North Jersey Pride will provide monthly social activities for LGBTQ and Ally teens designed to help our youngest members build community and a solid network of support. Activities include: improv workshop, cooking class, retro movie night, theater workshop, self-defense class, bowling, creative writing workshop, table games, and more! Email us for more info.
3. The 10th Annual North Pride Festival! The Festival that began as a picnic now brings 10,000+ attendees from all over the tri-state and from all socio-economic backgrounds. As the Festival has grown, so too have expenses, but it is a critical part of our mission to keep the Festival free and open to the public. Your donation will help us do that.
But what should I wear???
First, don't panic! This event is all about having fun and feeling good! You will be appropriately dressed at the Roaring Queer Twenties Ball if you wear:
• a 1920s-style suit or dress (think fringe and fedora)
• cocktail attire from any other era (think classy and elegant)
• something festive and colorful
• little black dress
• clothes (please don't go commando—it's an adult party but we'd like to ease into the fun)
• ANYTHING that makes YOU feel fabulous!
See ideas below. (Note: half-naked guy is really just for fun, but if you think you can rock that outfit, we'd love to see it!)
