PACE financing now available in Anoka County

Is your businesses, multi-family housing building, multi-tenant building, nonprofit, or place of worship interested in energy efficiency or adding renewable energy? A new financing tool called Property Assessed Clean Energy, or PACE, can help you move forward.

PACE financing is repaid as an assessment on your property tax bill for a set period, usually for less than the amount of your energy savings costs. In this way, PACE eliminates the burden of upfront costs by providing low-cost, long-term financing. PACE is different than a traditional loan: there is less of a reliance on credit, the assessment stays with the property instead of the owner, and they can generally be repaid over longer terms than a bank might allow.

Examples of potential building improvements that can be financed with PACE are solar arrays, HVAC upgrades, LED lighting, condensing boilers, digital controls, insulation, variable-frequency drive motors, building automation systems, and other water and energy conservation measures.

To learn more about PACE and take action, visit the Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERT) website for program details and applications, fact sheets, success stories, and frequently asked questions.

2020 Census—WeCount Minnesota!
Census Day – April 1, 2020

The U.S Constitution requires that each decade a count, or census, is taken of America’s population. The next Census will begin in Spring 2020 — mark your calendars. Help to ensure a complete count in Minnesota!

Census data determines how $675 billion in federal spending is allocated to local communities each year, including more than $15 billion distributed to Minnesota communities. This funding helps to support education, workforce development, hospitals, emergency services, and more. Even one missed person could mean forfeiting $28,000 in funding for the next ten years.

Census data determines how many representatives each state gets in Congress and is used to redraw district boundaries for federal, state, and local offices. Minnesota is at risk of losing a seat in congress, which would make congressional districts increase by about 100,000 people. If we are undercounted, we are underrepresented.

Census data helps businesses to better understand and serve their customers, where to open new locations, recruit for employees, and provides funding for workforce development.

How can your business can help promote the 2020 Census?

  • Allow employees time at work to fill out their census forms either online, by phone, or by paper.
