G3ict Seeks Consultant: Higher Education Technology & Accessibility Expert

G3ict is adapting its Smart Cities for All Digital Inclusion Maturity Model for use at higher education institutions. As a next step G3ict will pilot the maturity model with universities in the United States. G3ict is now looking to engage a consultant with expertise in accessibility, technology, and higher education institutions to support piloting the maturity model with universities. G3ict’s Maturity Model allows for the assessment of cities across 5 categories of variables critical to supporting inclusion while deploying technology and using data. Smart Cities for All at Bipartisan Tech Policy Conference

G3ict Vice President and Managing Director of G3ict’s Smart Cities for All global initiative, James Thurston, was invited to speak at the Next Century Cities second annual Opportunities for Bipartisan Tech Policy Conference on January 23 in Washington, DC.  The event convened local officials, policymakers, advocates, and other thought leaders from across the United States to discuss some of the most significant technology and telecommunications policy issues facing cities today. The goal of the event was to facilitate challenging conversations, find common ground, and determine action steps. James was the featured speaker focusing on the digital inclusion of persons with disabilities in Smart Cities.

The Tenth Session of the World Urban Forum

G3ict and its global initiative, Smart Cities for All, will be participating at the Tenth Session of the World Urban Forum 2020 in Abu Dhabi. G3ict is partnering with the World Blind Union to organize a side event on inclusive urban environments. Organized and convened by UN-Habitat, the inclusive nature of the Forum, combined with high-level participation, makes it a unique United Nations conference and the premier international gathering on urban issues. Learn more about the Tenth Session of the World Urban Forum.
