Social Science in Emergencies

The Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform is hiring a postdoctoral researcher to work on the social science of epidemics and public health crises.

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to develop intellectual leadership in the growing field of action-orientated research.

We are keen to hear from candidates who are energised by integrating academic and operational agendas to develop new approaches, and to reduce harm in epidemics and emergencies.

The Social Science in Emergencies newsletter brings together resources and updates from the Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform, and the Epidemic Response Anthropology Platform, plus news from our members and colleagues working in and on emergencies. Our aim is to make social science resources and evidence widely available and to build a community of social scientists and practitioners to better understand and address the social dimensions of emergencies.
