Programme of Community Events for 2020
Join us on 25th January at 2pm
We’d like to develop a programme of community events for 2020.  Our 2019 activities were really well attended and we’d like to build on those.  So, with this in mind, we are planning a community meeting on Saturday 25th January at 2pm, at Coppice Library, and anyone who would like to share ideas or suggestions, or who would like to help us at our future events, is very welcome to come along.  Let us know if you will be joining us, we look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Can you help create a new bridleway?
As we mentioned in one of our recent newsletters, a claim is being prepared by Ramblers Trafford to create a new legal bridleway, linking two existing rights of way on Carrington Moss.  The bridleway will be about 15 feet wide, on a good-surfaced path in the vicinity of the Flare Stack, as shown in yellow on the map.  The claim will be submitted shortly, so if you can add to the evidence that has been recorded to date, June Mabon would like to hear from you as soon as possible.
If you walk, cycle or ride your horse on this path your evidence of using the path will be very helpful to the claim.  Contact June Mabon by email at right.of.way.campaign@gmail.com and she will send you a form to fill in about your use of the path.  Please drop June a note, even if you have already filled in an evidence of use form about several possible new rights of way a few months ago.
Flixton Neighbourhood Plan - Consultation Closes 31st January 2020
The My Flixton Neighbourhood Planning Group has applied to Trafford to designate a Neighbourhood Area and a Neighbourhood Forum for Flixton.
Once agreed, this boundary would represent the geographical extent of any Neighbourhood Development Plan or Neighbourhood Development Order which may be produced for Flixton.
For all the details and the documentation, together with the link to the on-line response form, click on the image to the left.
The documents can also be viewed during normal opening hours at Trafford Town Hall, Sale Waterside Offices, Woodsend Library and Urmston Library.
Where possible, comments should be submitted electronically via the online survey found on the consultation page or via email to localplan.consultation@trafford.gov.uk (this email address can also be used for queries).  Where this is not possible, comments can also be posted to Strategic Planning, Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Manchester, M32 0TH.  If you’d like to speak to someone about the consultation, please call 0161 912 3149 and a member of the Strategic Planning Team will be able to assist.
Understanding how Citizens value Green Spaces
This survey will help GM understand how its citizens use and value Greater Manchester’s parks, woodlands and other greenspaces.  They will use the resulting information to determine how they will invest in improving and increasing our greenspaces and establish the business case for making those investments.  The survey closes on 1st February 2020.  Click on the logo below for more information.
Trafford’s Masterplan for Carrington Moss
The Friends of Carrington Moss has recently held two workshops with landowners, Trafford Council, community representatives and local experts to discuss the Ecology and Biodiversity on Carrington Moss and Interconnected Traffic-Free Routes across Carrington Moss.  Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing the outputs and next steps from the workshops more widely, watch this space!
Connecting with our communities
Some FOCM members have asked how they can help us as we take forward our initiatives.  Well, we really appreciate the help and support you have all given us over the past year.  There is more to come, so keep following our facebook page, our twitter feed and check your spam folders for our emails.  Don’t forget to share our information with your family, friends and neighbours.  Forward our emails, like our posts and retweet from our feed.  We want to make sure as many people as possible are aware of our community events and the plans for the future of this wonderful green space.  Check out our website for more information https://friendsofcarringtonmoss.com/.

Kind regards

With our very best wishes
