Performing Arts Outreach

Don and Will also visited Victoria’s Langham Court Theatre to teach 17 people Performing Arts Safety Awareness, and had some venue tours of the Pacific Opera Victoria, McPherson Playhouse, and the Royal Theatre before returning to the mainland.

Pink Shirt Day

On February 26, 2020 Actsafe will participate in Pink Shirt Day - a day to take a stand against bullying and practice kindness and acceptance. Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and online. Kindness and compassion go a long way and it’s up to all of us to end bullying!

More Info

Bell Let’s Talk Day is Wednesday, January 29 and is a good reminder to reach out to those around you and check on them. A resource you may find helpful is Calltime: Mental Health. This initiative by British Columbia's motion picture industry unions was created to assist workers and employers grappling with mental health and addiction issues both in and out of the workplace.

The theme for Actsafe Injury Prevention Week, 21st-25th September 2020, is ‘MIND Your Health: Mental Health Awareness’ where we will be focusing on providing resources and information to encourage conversation around mental health in the industries we support.

On The Move

Actsafe is sponsoring and attending on the MOVE on January 31 at The Dance Centre. Presented by the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) in collaboration with regional and national arts service organizations, on the MOVE welcomes young dancers into the professional dance community, and provides them with the skills, resources and networking opportunities they need to make an inspired and informed transition into the profession. Further info can be found here, and if you're attending, come and visit the Actsafe booth!
