FEBRUARY 2020 NEWSLETTER
Are you worried about the impact of your business on the environment?

There is still time to book for Ilkley BID's second ‘Green Evening’ Event on Tuesday 25 Feb at the Clarke Foley Centre.

We would like to hear your practical suggestions and thoughts on how local businesses can reduce their impact on the environment.

All welcome but please register to attend https://www.eventbrite.com/e/91118101695

Do you offer a collection point for difficult to recycle materials?

Items such as bubble wrap, DVDs, baby food pouches or waxed coated paper can be difficult to recycle and not collected for recycling in household bins.

We are hoping to compile an A-Z guide of businesses in Ilkley who offer collection services for these difficult to recycle items.

Currently Milestone Kitchens collect a wide number of different items but we would like to hear from any other businesses or organisations who offer something similar.

If you'd like to get involved email info@ilkleybid.co.uk

Cleaning of Ilkley town centre paved areas and pavements starts again on 22 March, for two weeks.

The Street Cleaning team use industrial hot water jet washing to remove dirt, oils, chewing gums and algae, making sure that the pavements are not only more attractive but safer too.

The team will be working from early evening to minimise disruption to commuters, shoppers and visitors.

In addition to cleaning the pavements, the team clean shop windows ensure shop frontages are spic-and-span for opening in the morning after the night’s cleaning!
Ilkley Watch is coming soon

The planned investment in CCTV from Bradford Council for Ilkley supports the proposed Ilkley Watch scheme and at the Ilkley BID we are happy to be working alongside Yorkshire Police, retailers and local business.

Still in the planning stages we are the process of testing radio and communications systems, and will hopefully launch the scheme soon.
