Your Vote for Mercaz Can Make Real Change.

Dear Friends of Hillcrest Jewish Center,
As North American Jews, we are given a chance once every five years to participate in the election of representatives to the World Zionist Congress, a body that controls over $1 billion in funding of educational institutions, and has significant influence over Israeli policy regarding religion and society.
Beginning today, we have the opportunity to participate in the World Zionist Congress 2020 election. I urge you to participate and cast your vote for Mercaz Slate #6, the slate of Conservative/Masorti Judaism.
At Hillcrest Jewish Center, we believe in a strong and safe Israel but we also value pluralism, democracy, and equality. I’m calling upon you to put those values into action. In addition to providing funding, the World Zionist Congress also exerts influence over Israel policy that can help break the ultra-Orthodox’s firm grasp on all religious matters, paving the way for the growth of Conservative/Masorti Judaism in Israel. This will only happen if we have a strong showing for our cause, much stronger than in prior elections.
There is a nominal fee collected to cover the cost of the election administration process ($5.00 for those 18-25 years of age and $7.50 for those who are 26 years of age and older).
Please take this election seriously; there are major consequences.
