Do you need an antivirus program on your iPhone/iPad?

Simple answer is NO, Here's why..

If you’re interested in the technical details of why that is, this excellent post from the folks at Tom’s Guide lays them out quite well.

If an abbreviated explanation will suffice, it’s because iOS (your iPhone’s operating system) forces the apps running on the device to run in a way that isolates them from the operating system itself. That makes it extremely difficult for a malicious app to take control of your phone.

I’m not saying that it’s impossible for your iPhone (or any other iOS device for that matter) to catch a virus.

After all, any computer can potentially be attacked by malicious code, and an iPhone is simply a very small computer at its core.

What I’m saying is the risk of an iPhone catching a virus is so small that it makes little sense to run an antivirus app on one.

Is your computer/electronics equipment protected ?

Have you had your computer, printer and router/modem plugged into the same surge protector for the last 10 years?

Is all your equipment plugged into just a power strip? Do you know the difference? A surge protector has a fuse in it, which absorbs surges and spikes. A power strip doesn't have a fuse to protect your equipment.

Let me educate you regarding surge protectors and a term called joules. Here is a chart that tells you how many joules each piece of equipment requires.

Do you know how many joules of protection your current surge protector has that you have your computer, printer and router or large screen tv plugged into?

If not, google the part number on your surge protector and do some research. You will need at least 3-4,000 joules of protection in your office to protect your printer, computer, router/modem and anything else you have plugged into it

If you have a facebook account, you DEFINETLY want to read about this new tool !

The “Off-Facebook Activity” tracker will show you 180 days’ worth of the data Facebook collects about you from the many organizations and advertisers in cahoots with it.

Facebook’s new tool isn’t nearly as useful as your Web browser’s clear-history button — it doesn’t let you reset your entire relationship with Facebook. But along with the transparency, it does give you a way to unlink some of its surveillance from your Facebook account.

You might be shocked or at least a little embarrassed by what you find in there.
