I want to provide a quick update on the work I’ve been doing around mental toughness. The working definition I use is this: the ability to focus on and execute solutions, especially in the face of adversity. Similar concepts include grit, growth mindset, hardiness and resiliency.
Clients – from corporate executives to students (Yes, students!) – use mental toughness to handle the stress of athletic, artistic and academic performance (sports, band/choir, tests, etc.); to tackle difficult conversations; to control their emotions; and to prioritize tasks and manage time.
Bottom line: Anyone can improve their mental toughness and benefit from doing so.
Want to learn more or see if mental toughness coaching would benefit you, a team member, or a student you know? Schedule a complimentary, 30-minute chat (https://calendly.com/hollyadams) or send me a text at 319-250-3075 with your availability.
I also want to thank the Eastern Iowa Tourism Association for inviting me to speak on mental toughness at their January meeting in Muscatine. If you need some ideas for what to do in Eastern Iowa, they are the experts! Check out this picture I snapped before the meeting at The Merrill Hotel and Conference Center; it’s a gorgeous facility!
