  • Infants: “Growing in Grace and Gratitude” 
  • Children: New Unit- Jesus as a Boy at the Temple.  Children will have the chance to consider what Jesus was like as a 12 yrs. old and to compare his going to temple with their coming to worship.  Younger Children: Games- Bright Rm/Ormond Bldg. Older Children: Photography, Garden Rm/Main Bldg.  Adult Pick-Up from the Bright Rm.
  • Middle School: grades 5-6-7, Connect. Youth Rm.  Our journey through the Old Testament continues with a look at Judges, Kings, and Prophets.

Sunday, Feb. 2, 9:45 a.m.
To conclude our Holy Disunity study, the Univ. of AL’s Crossroads Engagement team will lead a Practicing Inclusive Engagement workshop. Engaging concepts of social identity, intersectionality, inclusive language, and implicit bias, we will learn how to foster a more inclusive and welcoming environment. 
Please join Mission, Peace, and Justice immediately after church Sunday, January 26, for letter writing in the conference room. This month we are writing to thank local businesses who have implemented sensible gun policies for the protection of customers and employees.
We will prepare and serve a meal for 300-350 at the Community Soup Bowl on February 8, 2020. Volunteers are needed for the following jobs. Please contact the office or Judy Taylor to sign up! Thank you.
 
Meatloaf Makers (8 needed)
Meal preparation will begin Friday, February 7 at 4 pm at Grace and continue until all meatloaf is in pans and covered with foil.

Dessert Makers (dessert needed for 350 people)
Bring desserts (cookies, pies or sheet cakes) to the church by 5PM Friday, Feb. 7.  All dessert should be on disposable platters or pie pans.  Please mark "Nut Free" or "Contains Nuts".

Meal Cooks (7 needed)
Cooks should be at the Community Soup Bowl by 9:00 AM on Saturday, February 8.

Meal Servers (4 needed)
Servers should be at the Soup Bowl by 10:50 AM on Saturday, February 8.
 
A single volunteer may sign up to both cook and serve the meal. Cooks and Servers will clean as they go, so that the Soup Bowl is clean and set up for the following day by 1:30 PM.

The Souper Bowl of Caring is a national movement of youth across the nation working together to fight hunger and poverty in their own communities around the time of the Super Bowl. Please bring a donation of canned goods (especially canned vegetables) for our food pantry or prepare to make a monetary donation. All donations will remain local with our Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.
