New Semester = New Beginnings
A Ministry Update from the Kertsons

Kendra started off our first service of the semester by comparing the natural rhythms of college life with the natural rhythms of our spiritual life. She encouraged students that there is no better time than the start of a new Spring semester to start fresh by committing to open up new space in our lives to abide in Jesus that he might produce the fruit of his Spirit in our lives. Every student wants love, joy, peace, patience, etc., in their lives but aren’t always willing to spend time with the Spirit so that those seeds can be planted in our hearts. We then spent time worshipping and allowing the Spirit to do just that.

As we worshipped, numerous students came up for prayer, knelt down in surrender and simply soaked in what God was doing. I talked to one student who had the best break ever and was so thankful for how Chi Alpha had primed her to live life to the fullest back at home. I prayed for another student who had the worst break and was grateful for a God of new beginnings. I am always amazed about how each student brings their own story and God meets them in that story.

We Showed this recap video of our Fall semester and I thought I’d share it with you as well:

Fall 2019 Recap Video!
Keeping Up With the Kertsons
  • Eden is in her first musical this Spring since she turns 8 on February 2. She is a “who“ in Seussical the Musical and is loving life getting to be like her older sisters.
  • Peyton got her first lead role in Seussical as JoJo. We are so proud of her, not because she is a lead role but because she worked harder than she has ever worked to prepare for the audition and her hard work paid off.
  • Amber had a “spa” party for her 10th birthday which was January 13 where the girls did their nails, etc. They are all getting so old!
Prayer/Partnership Points
  • One of our students who grew up in the Foster system had a financial aid snafu and has no way to pay for this semester’s classes. Pray with us as we help her explore all her options and pray for a miracle.
  • Pray for all the freshman who connected with us last semester and got caught up in the craziness of their first semester that they’ll reconnect with us and make more space for God in their lives.
