Very soon, the police will have a KEY WORD SEARCH FACILITY on their systems. This means that if we report a wildlife crime and make sure the call handler writes the key words down, we can (finally) access wildlife crime figures nationally. Some KEY WORDS ARE: FOX; WILDLIFE CRIME; HUNT; HUNTING; ILLEGAL HUNTING; BADGER SETT BLOCKED; RURAL CRIME; HOUND. This really matters because crimes=funding. It is also crucial that these crimes are reported and logged. You can report a wildlife crime anonymously, so there is no reason not to do it.
