John Schwab, 43, of Temecula is one of two Republicans seeking the open seat in the 28th State Senate District formerly held by Jeff Stone. Schwab is one of five total candidates seeking the seat in the special election on March 3.

Schwab is a small business owner. He and his wife, Traci, who is the director of an adult day care program, have three children ages, 23, 15, and 13.

Others seeking the seat are Anna Nevenic, 72, , a D-Palm Springs; Joy Silver, 64, a D-Palm Springs; Melissa Melendez, 51, R-Lake Elisnore; and Elizabeth Romero, 36, D-Indio.  [more...]
 

COPS ESCORT GRASHA FROM WATER BOARD STUDY SESSION Like Uken Report News January 24, 2020 on Facebook

DESERT HOT SPRINGS – Police were called to a Mission Springs Water District Study Session to escort Director Steve Grasha from the meeting after a discussion escalated into yelling, foul language, and eventually a call to law enforcement.

The heated exchange involved a consultant, Robert Deloche, who was hired to assemble a draft Board of Directors Handbook.

Grasha, in prosecutorial fashion, peppered Deloche about what other agencies he had worked with on a similar activity and what happened in each of those instances.  [more...]

PALM SPRINGS – Bill “Bulldog” Feingold, the beloved host of a highly popular radio talk show who is living with Stage 4 liver cancer, has vowed to fight for residents’ right to directly elect the community’s mayor.

“I’m not going to die until I get my vote back,” Feingold told Uken Report. “I don’t know what’s worse, getting cancer or having them take my vote away. Both things are aggravating me to death.”

Saying he does not have strength to do it on his own, Feingold has issued a public plea for people to help him launch a petition drive.  [more...]
